Stranraer 3 : 0 Brechin City - In-form Stranraer win again

Posted Sunday, December 15, 2013 by PA

Stranraer stretched their winning run to five games with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Brechin.

Although Brechin started strongly, they faded quickly after leading scorer Jamie Longworth hit his 11th league goal of the season on 27 minutes to give Stranraer the lead.

Things did not improve for Brechin after the break as midfielder Darren Petrie was dismissed for a bad tackle to give the Blues complete control.

The home side made the advantage count just before the hour mark, with Martin Grehan finishing nicely into the top corner after being set up by Grant Gallagher.

The game was wrapped up a minute from time when Gallagher finished from six yards to ensure Stranraer kept pace with second-placed Dunfermline.
