Forfar Athletic vs Arbroath preview - Forfar duo return

Forfar welcome back Mark Baxter and Stuart Malcolm from bans as they host Arbroath in another derby contest following their penalty shootout success against neighbours Brechin in the William Hill Scottish Cup on Tuesday night

Dale Hilson remains out with a hamstring problem and Odmar Faeroe, Martyn Fotheringham and Gavin Swankie are all struggling after picking up knocks.

Manager Dick Campbell is looking for his side to make amends for a 3-0 defeat at Gayfield in September, saying: "That was a disappointing day but we have improved since then and have a great spirit in our side as coming back three times in midweek showed."

Arbroath miss only the long-term injured duo Ricky Little (foot) and Connor Birse (knee) as they look to kick-start their season after sliding into second bottom place.

Player/manager Paul Sheerin said: "Forfar are a strong side, particularly at home, and they will take a boost from winning in midweek. We are a bit low on confidence at the moment but local games like this have a decent atmosphere and that will lift the players.

"A repeat of our win from earlier in the season would be very welcome and it can happen if we take the chances that our build-up play will create."
