Dumbarton vs Queen of South preview - Agnew missing for Sons

Dumbarton miss Scott Agnew, who has a recurring groin injury, when they host Queen of the South at the Bet Butler Stadium.

Garry Fleming is back in training after five weeks out with an ankle injury, but this game may have come just too soon for the attacking midfielder.

Sons manager Ian Murray said: "In our last two home league games we have put in terrific performances and only come away with two points. Hopefully we can keep the level of performance high and get the win this time.

"We won at their place earlier this season but they have improved since then so we have to play well."

Queen of the South will be without midfielder Derek Young due to a toe injury as they look for the win that would take the above their hosts.

Daniel Carmichael and Kevin Dzierzawski are both struggling with manager Jim McIntyre looking for some revenge as well as a higher league placing.

McIntyre said: "Dumbarton won at Palmerston in a game where we missed a lot of chances. We have become more ruthless recently and hopefully that will continue and we can reverse that defeat.

"I watched Dumbarton in midweek against Alloa and they played well. We have to ensure that we do not let them pass the ball around us."
