Motta: PSG will win the Champions League

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Thiago Motta is convinced his side has sufficient quality to mount a serious assault on the Champions League this season.
PSG has made a strong start to the competition this term picking up 13 points from five games and ensuring qualification to the knock out stages as group winners with a game to spare.
Les Parisiens made it to the quarterfinals last season before being knocked out by Barcelona, but Motta is confident Laurent Blanc's men can go all the way in this year's campaign.
“I am convinced that we will win the Champions League. We are in a very strong team. The objective is to arrive in April and still be in the running in all competitions," he told reporters.
Motta has been widely praised for his contribution to the side this season, and the midfielder has admitted his happiness at the club following difficult moments in his career, including a spell at Atletico Madrid where he considered quitting the game.
“I feel good here and it's nice to feel important. This is what I wanted," he said. "The most difficult year of my career was the one I lived at Atletico. I thought about quitting football, but I came back stronger as a player and as a man.”
As well as establishing himself as a key component for his club side, Motta has also become a big part of Cesare Prandelli’s plans for the Italy national team since his debut in 2011.
Despite appearing twice for Brazil in 2003, the midfielder has no regrets over turning his back on the Selecao.
"When I arrived in Europe, I did not want to wear the jersey of the Selecao. I say that honestly, and now I put all of my strength in getting into the Italian squad," he said.
