Atlético de Madrid took all three points from what was a tough game against Elche. Simeone's men took the lead just as the game was grinding to a halt due to their inability to break down Fran Escribá's side.
Manu Herrera could not keep hold of Raúl García's shot and the ball fell to Koke for Atlético's first goal of the game, after Diego Costa appeared to foul Botía as the Elche player attempted to clear the ball.
Atleti's second came courtesy of the Brazilian striker, who pounced on Adrián's outstanding pass to beat Herrera. Atlético continues its winning streak, with 40 points from a possible 45.
