Footballer and bone marrow donor, Cristiano Ronaldo, went on Spanish radio COPE's 'El Partido de las 12' programme with three children who are battling leukaemia and another who is a donor. The Portuguese star's softer side came through when he answered the questions posed by the children.
Question. You're on top form at the moment.
Answer. Yes, I'm doing well both personally and with regard to the club and my national side too.
Q. Do you feel loved by the Real supporters?
A. Very much so. This is my fifth season at Real. It's hard to reach the people at the Bernabéu to start with. The truth is that I didn't feel as though I had found my place on the field in the first few years. But then I realized that maybe it was me who was wrong. Now I'm one hundred percent happy. It's like a dream every time I go to the Bernabéu, the people really love me. I want to stay here for many years to come and see out my contract, there's no other club like Real".
Q. I guess you'd like to end your career at Real?
A. Yes, possibly. When things are good, when you're settled and motivated to do well, you worry less about the future. Right now, I feel as though I want to finish my career here because I'm very happy. I love living in Madrid, playing at the best club in the world and I can't ask for more".
