Posted Sunday, November 24, 2013 by PA

Kevin Kyle struck late as Ayr beat Stenhousemuir 4-3 to leapfrog their promotion rivals in the table.

Ayr hit the front in the fifth minute when Michael Moffat scored his 12th goal of the season from the penalty spot.

John Gemmell equalised with a penalty of his own in the 14th minute before Sean Dickson's right-footed strike put the visitors ahead five minutes later. The game swung again in the 33rd minute as Ayr midfielder Michael Donald found the net from close range.

Ross McNeil's left-footed shot put Stenhousemuir back in control after 58 minutes but Ayr got back on level terms once more in the 72nd minute when Moffat slammed home another spot-kick.

Kyle headed home five minutes from time to snatch United all three points.
