Greenock Morton 2 : 0 Dumbarton - Morton claim second win of season

Mark McLaughlin's first league goal of the season helped bottom club Morton overcome Dumbarton 2-0.

Although neither side managed to break the deadlock before the break, Morton striker Nacho Novo looked the most likely to make something happen at Cappielow Park.

The ex-Rangers striker hit the post after half an hour when through one-on-one with Jamie Ewings and also saw a goal disallowed for offside.

Morton took a deserved lead after an hour when McLaughlin headed home from a free kick by Dougie Imrie.

Novo hit the post again after 67 minutes before Tomas Peciar secured the win two minutes from time, as he headed in another Imrie cross.

Dumbarton's best chance came in injury time but Colin Nish headed straight at Derek Gaston.
