Lee Erwin scored a late penalty as Arbroath earned a 2-2 draw in a thriller against nine-man East Fife.

The Red Lichties took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Alan Cook hit a brilliant curling effort into the top corner.

Liam Buchanan levelled for East Fife in the 70th minute with a left-footed drive, before the striker headed in his second just five minutes later.

East Fife's lead lasted a matter of minutes. Scott McBride saw red for hauling Robert Linn down in the box and Erwin stroked home the spot-kick.

The visitors were reduced to nine men late on when Gary Thom was dismissed for a second bookable offence but Arbroath could not take advantage.
