Kroos refuses to rule out Bayern exit

Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos says he could imagine pursuing his career in a different league outside the Bundesliga to help his development.

The midfielder's contract will expire in June 2015 and despite interest on both sides in extending the deal, he insists he could envisage playing somewhere outside of Germany in the future.

"I can't say that I will still play for Bayern Munich in 10 years," the 23-year-old told Kicker. "A lot can happen during that time, five-year contracts have been canceled after just one season in the past. It's possible that I will leave the Bundesliga at some point. Everyone who has experienced different leagues, like Miroslav Klose for instance, says that it helps your development."

Kroos added he was considering his options ahead of the campaign but quickly got used to the style of Bayern's new coach Pep Guardiola.

"There had been talks prior to the new season. However, if you look at the kind of football Guardiola introduced at Bayern, I imagined that I could fit in well personally," he said. "We are currently in talks over a new deal, and these talks will of course intensify as we edge closer to the end of my contract in 2015.

"There's a basic interest in extending my deal. If I'll be able to continue playing as I do at the moment, the contract will take care of itself."
