Getafe vs Valencia preview - Getafe eye more misery for Valencia

Getafe will take on Valencia at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Sunday after a week in which the clubs have experienced contrasting fortunes.

Luis Garcia's Getafe made amends for their agonising defeat to Athletic Bilbao the previous Monday with a 2-0 win at high-flying Villarreal, even though the coach admitted his team had been second best for most of the encounter.

"They played better than us, but I'm happy because we got the win, which is the most important thing," he told the post-match press conference.

Los Azulones moved up to sixth in the Primera Division table after the win and are now just one point from the fourth Champions League spot.

Things are a little different for Valencia, who lost 2-1 at home to bottom club Almeria on Wednesday - much to the anger of their fans.

Not for the first time this season, there was talk in the media that coach Miroslav Djukic would be sacked after the game.

However, the Serbian will be in the dugout on Sunday and bidding to kickstart a revival.

"I feel sad for not being able to hit he right note but I'm still trying to turn things around," he told reporters after the game.

"I feel strong enough to keep going and make things happen. The team are not playing well but I feel that I am capable of taking us forward."

Despite the coach's comments, the mood is clearly tense at the club.

Only captain Ricardo Costa came out to speak to the media after the defeat to Almeria, which sent Los Che down to 12th in the table, and the club have prohibited any player from talking to the press until after the game with Getafe.

The defender refused to talk about the atmosphere among the team after the defeat, remarking that "what happens in the dressing room stays there".

And he insisted the players backed Djukic, saying: "If we didn't, we wouldn't be here."

The coach will have to make do without his two first-choice full-backs, Joao Perreira and Andres Guardado, with both players carrying injuries.

Garcia's side, meanwhile, can boast a clean bill of health, although a couple of changes are expected to be made for the game, which will be the team's third in six days.
