Real Sociedad 3 : 0 Almeria - Real Sociedad 3 : 0 Griezmann on target for Sociedad

Forward Antoine Griezmann scored twice with his head as Real Sociedad extended the misery for bottom side Almeria by inflicting a fifth consecutive defeat.

The Frenchman doubled his Primera Division tally to four with a goal early in each half as their Andalusian opponents' win-less run since the start of the season was stretched to 10 matches.

On-loan Roma left-back Jose Angel scored only the second goal of his career and the first since his senior debut season for Sporting Gijon in 2009 as Sociedad moved up to ninth in the table.

Griezmann opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he nodded in from close range after Xabi Prieto had headed on.

Almeria responded positively with Fernando Soriano (three times) and Aleix Vidal having shots blocked with Sebastian Dubarbier seeing his angled strike saved by Claudio Bravo.

On the stroke of half-time Rodri's close-range header missed the target and Almeria were made to pay five minutes into the second half when Griezmann struck again, heading in Angel's left-wing cross.

Within five minutes Angel had finished the contest, moving forward and cutting inside before turning Rafiki and moving the ball back onto his stronger left foot to shoot across Esteban Suarez.

Soriano (twice), Ramon Azeez and Verza all tried to restore some pride but their long-range efforts never looked like threatening and another blank in front of goal made it just one scored in the last five matches.
