Craig Beattie scored late on as Dundee snatched a 2-1 win over Queen of South at Dens Park to keep up the pressure on leaders Hamilton.

Dundee finally broke the deadlock after 77 minutes. Jim McAlister's shot from the left-side of the box was fumbled by Clark, and Peter MacDonald was on hand to smash how the loose ball.

However, their lead lasted less than three minutes as substitute Derek Lyle snatched an equaliser for the visitors, slotting Christopher Mitchell's pass past Kyle Letheren.

Yet the home side weren't done yet as Beattie smashed home the winner from the middle of the box after 89 minutes to earn the Dee three points.
