Alloa Athletic vs Falkirk preview - Alloa and Falkirk eye derby spoils
Posted Friday, October 11, 2013 by PA
Midfielder Eddie Ferns returns to the Alloa squad that will face Falkirk after fully recovering from the broken jaw suffered back in August.
An ankle injury keeps James Creaney out, though, as the Wasps look to build on fine wins over Hamilton and Morton.
Manager Paul Hartley said: "This is the first game between the sides in 10 years and it will have an edge to it. While it may be passionate derby I expect it to be a good footballing game as both sides like to pass the ball around.
"We have done really well in our last two games and want to keep that going."
Falkirk will be without goalkeeper Michael McGovern, who is on international duty with Northern Ireland.
Will Vaulks also misses out due to a knee injury while Ollie Durojaiye has broken a bone in his foot.
Technical Director Alex Smith said: "This game will be a tightly-fought derby encounter and we will have to play well to win. Paul Hartley has done a terrific job at Alloa and they have picked up great wins in their last two games and will be full of confidence.
"We had to work really hard to get our win over Queen of the South last week and we will need the same approach in this game."
