Sampdoria vs Torino preview - Rossi gets vote of confidence

Sampdoria president Edoardo Garrone has given coach Delio Rossi a vote of confidence ahead of Sunday's Serie A game against Torino.
Last weekend's 1-0 defeat at AC Milan dropped Sampdoria to 19th place in Serie A, with just two points from a possible 18.
The Blucerchiati have yet to win this season and reports in Italy have suggested the club could consider potential replacements for under-fire Rossi.
However, Garrone dismissed those media rumours.
"Rossi's future has never been in doubt," Garrone said on Sampdoria TV. "We believe he is the right person to teach and make our young team play well.
"We are going through a bad spell but we all have to raise our levels. The coach is a big part of Sampdoria and we have never considered getting rid of him.
"I'm sure Rossi is the right man for this team and the right man to achieve the results we want."
Garrone has urged the club fans to stand by the coach and his team.
"I understand the fans' disappointment," he said. "Both the club and the fans have a common aim and that is for Sampdoria to do well.
"We need the fans to support the coach and the team instead of protesting."
Rivals Torino are looking to bounce back from last weekend's controversial 1-0 defeat to Juventus.
Video replay showed that Paul Pogba's winner in the Turin derby should have been disallowed as Juventus striker Carlos Tevez was offside in the build-up to the goal.
"We didn't deserve to lose," Torino's top scorer Alessio Cerci said. "It's disappointing but we have to put this defeat behind us."
The result was Torino's second loss of the campaign and their first at home.
The Granata, coached by Giampiero Ventura, will be without defender Guillermo Rodriguez, who is out for a month with a muscle strain.
