Falkirk 2 : 1 Queen of South - Loy double sends Falkirk third

Rory Loy scored a brace as Falkirk beat Queen of the South 2-1 to move up to third in the Championship.

The striker almost gave the hosts an early lead with a volley that flashed just past the post.

Loy made no mistake after 33 minutes when Falkirk were awarded a penalty after Ian McShane handled Jay Fulton's free-kick.

Queens came into the game at the start of the second half and equalised through Iain Russell. Derek Lyle found Russell with a good pass and the midfielder volleyed beyond Michael McGovern.

The game looked to be heading for a draw before Loy grabbed his sixth of the season five minutes from time with a low shot from 20 yards.
