Beattie helps Blues beat Beath

Craig Beattie's wonderful goal helped Dundee record back-to-back victories for the first time this season as they won 2-0 away at Cowdenbeath.

The former Celtic striker expertly lobbed the stranded Thomas Flynn from 35 yards out to give the visitors the lead nine minutes before the interval.

Up until that point it had been a quiet first half, with Kane Hemmings going the closest for the home side.

Dundee took control in the second period with Declan Gallacher and Peter MacDonald both being denied by Flynn.

The game was wrapped up in the 82nd minute when Ryan Conroy slotted into the bottom corner from inside the area after good work from Peter MacDonald, consigning Cowdenbeath to a sixth defeat in eight league games.
