Fredy Guarin: Inter Milan midfielder turned down Juventus after leaving Porto
Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has claimed that he turned down the chance to join Juventus when he left Porto.
The Colombia international, who made the switch to Serie A in January 2012, was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer amid rumours of interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.
But Guarin insists that his only ambition is to enjoy success with Inter and he has no plans to move away from the Giuseppe Meazza.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I have always said that I want to win silverware here.
"I remember when I was at Porto, I said no to Juventus to come to Inter."
Inter finished a miserable ninth in Serie A last season and Guarin admits a return to the UEFA Champions League must be their main ambition this term.
He added: "I really miss the Champions League. A team like Inter needs to be in that competition every season. We have to return immediately, for the fans too."
