Chievo vs Atalanta preview - Colantuono keen to build on win

Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono is hoping his side can build on last weekend's triumph over Udinese when they take on Chievo in Verona.

A brace from German Denis allowed the Bergamaschi to beat Udinese 2-0 and halt a three-match losing streak.

The result was Atalanta's second triumph of the campaign and lifted Colantuono's side to 13th place.

"I hope this win marks a turning point for my team," Colantuono said. "My players handed a solid performance against Udinese and we deserved the victory.

"We look to be on the right path and that is important.

"Now we must give continuity to this result in order to go into the international break with confidence."

Atalanta have yet to clinch a point on the road but take on a Chievo side that has struggled to make an impact so far.

The Flying Donkeys have won just once this season - a 2-1 triumph over Udinese - and fell 2-0 at Catania last time out to suffer their fourth defeat of the campaign.

Chievo striker Sergio Pellissier is aware that his team, who sit one point clear of the relegation zone, must step up its game.

"We didn't play well against Catania and we deserved to lose," he said. "It's disappointing because we are a better side than we showed against Catania.

"The fact is that if we don't give our best in every game, we can lose against any team.

"We need to show a huge improvement, starting against Atalanta."

Atalanta midfielder Luigi Giorgi and Giulio Migliaccio are still sidelined through injury and will not feature on Saturday.

Alberto Paloschi will return to the starting line up having been benched at Catania and will lead Chievo's attack alongside Cyril Thereau.
