Thai Premier League club Buriram United have snapped up former Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson on a free transfer.

Simpson will reportedly be paid 47,000 Euros per week, making the 24-year old the highest paid player in Thai Premier League history.
Prior to agreeing to this move to Asia, Simpson was a target of Turkish Super Lig side Gaziantepspor and travelled to Turkey to finalize a deal, only to decide against it a few days later.
His agent Leon Callander revealed to Sky Sports News in early September that interest in his client's services was always high and Simpson was open to playing outside of England after being released by Hull City this summer.
"He does like the idea of playing abroad, and that is why we had the talks in Turkey, but things were not quite right," Callander explained.
"We will be assessing the options over the coming days and see what is best for him."
Buriram are currently coached by former Real Madrid assistant manager Alejandro Menendez.
