Manchester United could rival Arsenal for £20m star Lars Bender

Starsport revealed this morning how Bender is a major transfer target for Arsenal.

However, the Germany ­international Bender is also admired by Manchester United.

The champions were outplayed by West Brom yesterday, who again exposed their midfield frailties.

Strengthening that area will be a priority for David Moyes when the transfer windows and Bender could fit the bill.

Arsenal are keen on the 24-year-old box-to-box player and have already had one bid of £18.5m rejected.
