Cagliari vs Inter Milan preview - Cagliari strive to stop Inter

Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan knows Inter Milan are favourites to win on Sunday but he believes a victory for his side is not out of the question.

The Sardinians go into the encounter on the back of a Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Livorno.

The Rossoblu have won just once this season while they have drawn their last three league games.

They take on an Inter side who are unbeaten and boast the best attacking line in Serie A with 15 goals scored in five games.

"We have to play like a team, be organised at the back and hit them on the break," Nainggolan said.

"We will try to play our game even though it will not be easy against such an opponent.

"It is going to be very difficult because Inter are doing a great job and have a fantastic coach that has been able to impose his style in a short space of time.

"Our only regret is not to be able to play against Inter at the Sant' Elia."

Cagliari had hoped to return to play at the Sant' Elia stadium this weekend.

However, that venue, which has undergone complete restructuring, has yet to pass some safety checks and will not be available for us.

Instead, the encounter will take place at Trieste's Nereo Rocco stadium, where Cagliari have played their home games in the last two years.

Inter, meanwhile, go into Sunday's game inspired by their come-from-behind 2-1 win against Fiorentina in midweek.

The outcome lifted Walter Mazzarri's side to second place, two points behind Roma.

"We deserved the win against a strong team like Fiorentina," Mazzarri said.

"I'm very pleased with the team's reaction when Fiorentina went in front.

"My team is doing exceptional things considering the little time we have had to work since the season started."

Cagliari are hopeful playmaker Andrea Cossu, who is doubtful for the encounter with a thigh injury, will be fit.
