Dunfermline 2 : 1 Airdrie United - Geggan wins it for Pars

Posted Sunday, September 22, 2013 by PA

Andrew Geggan scored Dunfermline's decisive goal as they beat Airdrieonians 2-1 at East End Park.

The first half was a scrappy affair, with neither team threatening to take the lead but the game came to life after half-time.

The Pars took the lead 10 minutes after the break when Stephen Husband unleashed a right-footed strike that flew past Airdrieonians shot-stopper Scott Gallagher.

The Diamonds hit back one minute later when Liam Coogans found the bottom corner of the net from close range after good work from William McLaren.

Jim Jefferies' side sealed the points when Geggan fired in four minutes from time to put his side within two points of the Scottish League One summit.
