Dundee vs Hamilton FC preview - Beattie in for Dee

Posted Friday, September 13, 2013 by PA

Craig Beattie is in the Dundee squad to face leaders Hamilton after the former Scotland striker joined this week.

Steven Doris and Carlo Monti have both been declared fit leaving only Leighton MacIntosh (knee) and Jamie Reid (ankle) unavailable.

Assistant manager Ray Farningham said: "It is great to have Craig on board as it gives us different options up front. The fact that we can go either two points behind or eight points behind says it all in terms of winning this game.

"We are at home to the league leaders and will look to take the game to them."

Hamilton include Louis Longridge for the first time in six weeks after he recovered from a toe injury but Jonathan Routledge's knee problem keeps him out.

Despite the Accies' perfect record player-manager Alex Neil reckons there is no pressure on his men.

He said: "Dundee are a very experienced side who performed well in the SPL after they settled into it. The pressure is on them to win as we are leading just now so we can go and enjoy the game.

"We showed great character to come back from a goal down at Falkirk and hopefully the international break has not halted our momentum."
