Alloa Athletic vs Dumbarton preview - Alloa pair sit out

Posted Friday, September 13, 2013 by PA

Alloa are without Eddie Fearns and Iain Flanagan against Dumbarton.

Fearns suffered a broken jaw in their last game against Queen of the South and Flannigan has a knee injury.

Manager Paul Hartley said: "To do well in any league you have to win your home matches. We have won our first two and it would be great to make it three although it will not be easy as Ian Murray has done a terrific job at Dumbarton.

"We see this as a game that we can win and they will view it exactly the same."

Dumbarton's options at Recreation Park have increased after goalkeeper Jamie Ewings and Kevin Smith were declared fit.

The Sons will, however, be without Nicky Phinn (calf) and Steven McDougall (ankle) with Garry Fleming facing a fitness test before kick-off.

Boss Ian Murray said: "It has been a long two weeks since we lost to Cowdenbeath especially as we did not play well. However a win in this game would take us level with an Alloa side that have had a good start to the season.

"Everyone expects Alloa, Cowdenbeath and ourselves to be competing in a mini-league and whilst we are aiming higher you do not want to fall behind."
