Falcao and Luis Suárez still in the crosshairs

Falcao may have kicked off his season at Monaco, but he could still end it at Real Madrid. The same might happen to Liverpool’s Luis Suárez. Florentino Pérez is still keen on signing a 'galactico' centre-forward to complete Ancelotti’s new-look Real Madrid side.
The transfer targets are clearly defined: Falcao and Luis Suárez. The winter transfer market usually offers very little choice, but the fact that neither Falcao nor Luis Suárez are playing in Europe this season makes them two potential reinforcements should Real Madrid need additional firepower midway through the season.
Real Madrid even closed a deal for the 'reds' striker, which is why the Uruguayan handed in a transfer request at Liverpool, but Bale once again popped up on the radar and Florentino shelved any plans to sign the forward.
Real has had a longstanding interest in Falcao. The club has constantly kept tabs on the Colombian – and he on the Madrid -, even after his move to Monaco was announced. The former Atlético hitman does not appear to be very happy at Monaco.
Now, all eyes are on Benzema and his performances will be studied under a microscope. If Karim’s form dips, the possibility of signing a forward would gain ground.
Özil’s sale to Arsenal increases the likelihood of Real Madrid doing business in the January transfer window. The sale brought in €45m – plus €5m in add-ons – which are there for whenever the club needs them.
Finally, Ancelotti wants a striker. He does not believe that Benzema has the necessary killer instinct and he does not want to put too much responsibility on Morata’s young shoulders.
