Forfar 1 : 2 Stenhousemuir - Warriors win on the road

Stenhousemuir remain just three points behind League One leaders Rangers after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win at Forfar.

The struggling hosts were looking for their first win of the season but that always appeared unlikely after the visitors hit a quick-fire double in the first half.

Sean Higgins put the Warriors into a 30th minute lead after John Gemmell had picked him out and the striker then turned provider just moments later.

This time Gemmell found Darren Smith 12 yards out and the former Scotland under-21 winger beat Darren Hill to double the visitors' lead.

Forfar rallied after the break and were awarded a penalty after Sean Dickson brought down James Dale.

Iain Campbell took charge and duly converted to offer the hosts a glimmer of hope but Martyn Corrigan's men held out for all three points.
