Kane Hemmings scored a last-gasp winner as Cowdenbeath beat Dumbarton 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at Central Park.

Beath took the lead in the 21st minute when James Stevenson rifled the ball past Sons stopper Jamie Ewings from 20 yards.

The visitors flew out of the blocks in the second period and it was not long before they were on level terms.

Chris Turner made it 1-1 in the 51st minute when he fired in from the edge of the area.

Turner added a second from outside the box to give his side a 2-1 lead 13 minutes later but their advantage did not last long.

The hosts equalised in the 72nd minute when Jon Robertson swept the ball high into the top of the goal from the middle of the box.

Cowdenbeath substitute Jordan Morton had his 90th-minute penalty saved but Hemmings spared his blushes in the first minute of added time when he found the back of the net from close range.
