Tottenham have already invested the € 100 million they will receive for Gareth Bale on six signings, the latest of which being Argentine midfielder Erik Lamela from AS Roma and the Romanian defender, Chiriches Vlad, from Steaua Bucharest.
The club's president Daniel Levy has signed Roberto Soldado (€30 million), Lamela (€30 million), Paulinho (€20 million), Capua (€11 million), Chiriches (€9.5 million) and Nacer Chadli (€8 million). In total €109 million, six for the price of one: Gareth Bale.
Villas-Boas wanted to strengthen the team with the money from Bale. He knew that the Welsh star's days were numbered and that he had his cases packed ready to go to Real Madrid. His main objective was to find quality players to fight for Champions League qualification next season.
This list of additions to Spurs means that Real Madrid may announce Gareth Bale's signing very shortly.
