Queen of South vs Alloa Athletic preview - Burns misses Alloa visit

Paul Burns has a groin injury which keeps him out of Queen of the South's clash with Alloa.

Kevin Dzierzawski, the recent signing from America, has not yet received all the necessary paperwork to allow him to play.

The Doonhamers knocked holders St Mirren out of the Scottish League Cup in midweek.

But manager Jim McIntyre said: "We are straight back into our bread and butter against an Alloa side that showed Aberdeen how good they are by taking them to penalties on Tuesday."

Alloa head to the only side that finished above them in the Second Division last season missing only midfielder Iain Flannigan, who has a knee injury.

Paul Hartley lists the same squad that stretched Aberdeen with the Recreation Park boss asking for the same again.

Hartley said: "The players were magnificent on Tuesday and if we can hit the same high standards at Palmerston then we will do well.

"They had a terrific performance and result against St Mirren so will be buoyant.

"Jim McIntyre has carried on doing the good job Allan Johnston started so this is a difficult game. "
