Brechin held on to beat Forfar 2-1 thanks to goalkeeper Graeme Smith's last-ditch penalty save.

The hosts went 1-0 up after 19 minutes when midfielder Craig Molloy bundled in from close range to score his first goal of the season.

City doubled their lead in the 54th minute when Alan Trouten found the back of Forfar stopper Darren Hill's net from the middle of the area.

The visitors piled on the pressure and finally got their goal in the 90th minute when Iain Campbell scored from the spot after Gerard McLauchlan fouled Christopher Templeman in the box.

The Loons were awarded another penalty in the fourth minute of added time when Brechin stopper Smith brought down Gavin Swankie in the area, but he redeemed himself to save Campbell's spot-kick.
