Raith Rovers 0 : 0 Dundee - Rovers rally to claim draw
Posted Sunday, August 25, 2013 by PA
Raith and Dundee were made to share the spoils at Stark's Park as both sides struggled to find the breakthrough in an uninspiring 0-0 draw.
In a goalless first half it was the visitors who created the better chances but Peter MacDonald dragged a shot just wide of the upright before Carlo Monti thought he'd converted James McAlister's corner only for the referee to blow for a foul.
Dundee went close again just before the half-time whistle but MacDonald was guilty of a glaring miss when he sent a free header over the bar from just a yard out.
The second half was very much a similar affair as John Brown's men pushed for the opener, but Raith keeper David McGurn was on hand to make a double save from Declan Gallagher and Dundee failed to break down the hosts' defence.
