Raith Rovers vs Dundee United preview - wait on Davidson fitness

Raith will be without striker Greig Spence against Dundee.

Spense suffered a thigh strain in his side's midweek Ramsdens Cup success over Dunfermline and will miss out on Saturday. The experienced Liam Fox is also a major doubt for Kirkcaldy manager Grant Murray.

"It is disappointing to be without Greig as he was full of confidence after scoring a hat-trick against Cowdenbeath last Saturday," said Murray.

"This will be a real test for us as Dundee are a strong side packed with experienced players. They did really well in the second half of the last season and were unlucky to be relegated so we have to put in a big performance."

Dundee will give former Rover Iain Davidson a fitness test on his injured ankle with manager John Brown delaying naming his team until the result is known.

Nicky Riley remains out with a knee injury but Gavin Rae and Kevin McBride are both expected to shake off knocks in time to feature.

Brown said: "This will be a tricky game for us as Raith have started the season in good shape.

"They also have a lot of spirit in their ranks as their game at Cowdenbeath showed where they came back from being behind in the last 10 minutes to win."
