Brechin City vs Forfar Athletic preview - Carcary blow for Brechin

Brechin winger Derek Carcary will miss out on the Angus derby against Forfar after suffering a hamstring injury this week, while club skipper Ewan Moyes remains sidelined due to a knee problem.

The Glebe Park men got their season off and running last weekend with a 2-0 win over East Fife and manager Ray McKinnon is keen to ensure that continues in what he believes is the most competitive league in the country aside from Rangers.

McKinnon said: "Nine teams in this league are incredibly close to each other.

"Forfar are strong and will be looking to challenge for promotion, so we need to be at our best."

Forfar miss the injured Mark McCulloch and the suspended Darren Dods, but Darren Hill, Marvin Andrews and Martyn Fotheringham will all return after missing out against Dundee in the Ramsdens Cup in midweek.

The Loons are looking to bounce back after losing to Ayr and the Dark Blues in the last week and facing local rivals Brechin is the perfect game to do that, according to manager Dick Campbell.

The Station Park boss said: "Having a derby after two defeats is perfect as there will be no need to lift the boys. Brechin are a good side but we will be looking for the win."
