Airdrie United vs Glasgow Rangers preview - Airdrie waiting on duo

Airdrieonians manager Jimmy Boyle will finalise his side to face Rangers after fitness tests are carried out on midfield pair Jamie Barclay and Nathan Blockley.

Boyle is already planning several changes to the youthful looking line-up that lost 2-0 to Queen of the South in the Ramsdens Cup in midweek, with strikers Jim Lister and Lewis Coult definite starters.

John Boyle is ruled out with a knee injury and the Diamonds boss said: "This is a huge game for our club and one that we are really keen to do well in.

"Rangers have started this league strongly so we have to perform to a high standard to do anything."

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has confirmed Ian Black will be in the squad despite the midfielder facing allegations that he broke betting rules.

However, Darren Cole will not be involved in the match after being told to stay away from the club for the time being following a breach of discipline.

McCoist has yet to decide whether players recently recovered from injury, such as Emilson Cribari and Dean Shiels, will be selected to play on the artificial surface at the Excelsior Stadium.
