Airdrie United vs Stenhousemuir preview - Airdrie want Boyle boost

Posted Friday, August 16, 2013 by PA

Airdrie hope to include former Dumbarton, Partick and Dunfermline full-back Paddy Boyle in their squad as they bid for a second win over Stenhousemuir this season.

The Diamonds, who enjoyed a 4-3 Scottish League Cup success over Stenhousemuir a fortnight ago, also want to add former Kilmarnock defender Garry Hay to their squad.

Gregor Buchanan is back in contention following injury and Chris O'Neill is available after suspension, but striker John Boyle is still out with a knee injury.

Manager Jimmy Boyle said: "There are usually goals between Stenhousemuir and us, but I would gladly settle for a 1-0 win as opposed to a 4-3 success."

Former Airdrie midfielder Sean Lynch is available for Stenhousemuir after a hamstring injury and Eddie Malone will be included after serving the two-game ban he picked up after clashing with O'Neill a fortnight ago.

Bryan Hodge is still out with an ankle problem, while Ross Brash and David Rowson are absent due to respective hamstring problems.#

Stenhousemuir manager Martyn Corrigan said: "In the last game we were two goals up and then had two defenders substituted because of injury and a third defender sent off.

"Hopefully we will have better fortune in this meeting."
