Hamilton FC vs Dumbarton preview - Canning back for Accies
Posted Friday, August 16, 2013 by PA
Hamilton welcome back Martin Canning from suspension as they face Dumbarton on the new artificial surface at New Douglas Park.
Player manager Alex Neil will be missing Jonny Routledge, who has a knee injury, and Louis Longridge who remains out with a foot problem.
Neil said: "We have had a couple of training sessions on the new pitch and are good to go on it. Artificial pitches are no big deal and in fact we only have 11 league games left to be played on grass.
"We had a great win at Raith last week and now want to give our fans something to shout about with a home win."
Dumbarton include fit-again Scott Linton for their trip to New Douglas Park with Nicky Phinn also included after agreeing a deal to join the Sons.
Manager Ian Murray is looking for his men to again show their battling qualities.
He said: "We went a goal down to Falkirk last week and the players battled back for a point. By the end we were disappointed to only draw.
"We will need to battle to get anything from Hamilton as they will be on a high after winning at Raith last weekend.
"We want points on board quickly and winning this one would be a great way of doing that."
