Honda: I'll still join Milan

Keisuke Honda is confident he will still join AC Milan after CSKA Moscow revealed talks were at a standstill.

The Japan international has six months left on his contract with the Russian club and has been consistently linked with a move to San Siro.

Milan is thought to be keen to sign the midfielder before his deal runs out in January, although vice president Adriano Galliani suggested on Thursday that an early move was unlikely, while CSKA branded the Rossoneri "disrespectful" for alleged underhand tactics during negotiations.

However, Honda remains confident that an agreement can be reached, providing president Yevgeny Giner sanctions the move - although he insists that he will not be taking a pay cut to move to Serie A.

"I have already admitted having negotiations (with Milan) and it's true that they are entering the final stage," he told Nikkan Sports. "As far as I have heard, Milan has mostly satisfied the financial terms."

Honda has made 80 appearances for the Russian Premier League side in three years at the club, scoring 20 goals.
