Pellegrini is a bit like Wenger, says Nasri

Manchester City's Samir Nasri believes Manuel Pellegrini's approach to management is similar to former boss Arsene Wenger.

The French international is working under a new manager for the first time since his move to the Etihad Stadium in 2011, following Roberto Mancini's departure at the end of the previous campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Nasri noted similarities between current Manchester City boss Pellegrini and the man who bought him from Marseille, Arsenal manager Wenger.

"For the moment it's pretty good. He's someone who talks with the players, so it's always good for the player to know exactly what he's doing; if it's good or if it's wrong, what I like about him is he talks about everything outside football; how you are in your life and stuff and it's pretty important for a manager to understand these things, like a psychologist, it's good," he shared.

"He's a little bit like Arsene Wenger in the way he works. Same kind of training, same attitude as well. What's different between him and other managers I've worked with is he's very present in training. He's not scared to stop the training when something is wrong."

City captain Vincent Kompany also revealed that the former Malaga boss had already begun to stamp his influence on the team's style.

"[Pellegrini] has got his own vision and I think like every big manager he’s got a strong vision about how the team needs to play," he said to the Manchester Evening News.

"I think what he’s trying to do is add on to what we have already and just make sure that those little points that we could improve we do improve, maybe recovering the ball quicker and being more dynamic."
