Luka Modric talked about what he wants to achieve during his second season at Real Madrid, with a special focus on what the team must aspire to. "My challenge is to win trophies with Real Madrid. We're under a lot of pressure but I hope that we have a better season than last year, because our challenge is to win titles," said the midfielder.
With regards to his preferences, Modric's priorities are clear. "If I had to choose I'd pick the Champions League, but La Liga is important to us too and I'd like to win both trophies."
The Croat analysed Real's recent pre-season matches, focussing, above all, on the squad’s overall performances: "Everything is going great for now. The team is training very well and we’ve played two good matches. The first one against Bournemouth wasn’t too difficult but we played really well. The game against Lyon was tougher and we rose to the challenge. I have a really good feeling about next season," Modric said.
To conclude, the midfielder answered the questions put to him about Real Madrid's alleged interest in Gareth Bale. "I have a very good relationship with Bale, but I don’t talk about players who aren’t in the team. All I can say is that he’s a great player," he said.
