Jones calm despite Man United form

Manchester United's Phil Jones isn't overly concerned despite the team losing two out of their three pre-season games so far.
The Premier League champions went into half-time ahead after Jesse Lingard's strike and an own goal from Masakazu Tashiro cancelled out Marquinhos' effort in the first minute. However, Manchester United struggled to maintain control of the game in the second period, eventually taken down by goals from Fabio Aguiar and Yoshihito Fujita.
Together with their 1-0 defeat to the Singha All Stars in David Moyes' first game in charge, the Red Devils have lost two out of three of their pre-season fixtures, but Jones told The Guardian that he was confident the team would work out their issues before the start of the new campaign.
"It was a good workout, disappointed with the result, but it's pre-season, we can work on these things in training," he said.
"It wasn't the best of games, we know we didn't pass it well, we didn't pass the ball as in previous games but we'll learn. We're learning off him [Moyes] and he's learning off us, come the start of the season I'm sure we'll be bang on. We know the levels that we can play at. Tonight [Tuesday] wasn't clever but I'm sure we'll have a good start to the season."
Fellow Englishman Tom Cleverley echoed Jones' comments and believed the United squad were still recovering from their recent travels.
"It was very tough, I don't want to make excuses but we travelled a long way yesterday [Monday] and we have come up against a sharp team in hard conditions," he pointed out.
"I'm sure we can play better, we weren't really at the races but it was a good workout for us. It will be good for us. You can't get much better workouts than that. They made us work really hard, they were running for 90 minutes and had great movement. We would like to improve on the technical part of our game but as a workout, it was 100%."
