Don’t blame us! Prem bosses hit back at Hodgson fix fury

PREM bosses insist they are not to blame for Roy Hodgson’s fixture fury.
England boss Hodgson is said to be furious with the top-flight TV schedule for the new season.
It means FOURTEEN of his stars could be in action just five days before The Three Lions’ 2014 qualifier against Moldova on September 6.
Hodgson joined an FA delegation to try to persuade Premier League chiefs not to play key games that would be screened live on Sunday or Monday night ahead of that crunch qualifier.
But two big matches have been planned to be played on Sunday, September 1.
Manchester United travel to Anfield for a derby clash with Liverpool at 1.30pm and Arsenal host Spurs at 4pm.
But Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said: “Fixtures are a complex affair.
“Yet it’s our international confederations that have squeezed the calendar, not us.
“So we get bristly at the idea that, with the fixture calendar, it’s somehow us being the awkward ones.”
