Ancelotti and Mourinho both vying for Matic

Real Madrid and Chelsea are after the same man. Both are looking to sign Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic, one of Benfica's key players. "Real ahead of Chelsea", assures the Portuguese "A Bola" in its front-page headline. According to the newspaper, "apart from the millions", the 'White House' has the advantage of being able to include 50% of Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Garay's rights, or it could even throw Portuguese full back Fabio Conetrao into the deal.

Armoured with a €45 million release clause, Matic is a perfect anchorman, with a playing style similar to that of Fernando Redondo. He can also play well defensively (helped by his 1.94 metre stature) and is a good tactician on the field.
