Álvaro Morata is definitely causing a sensation at the European under-21 Championships, scoring two goals in barely 44 minutes on the pitch. Both were crucial goals which sealed six points for Spain. Only The Netherlands' Leroy Fer can boast scoring two goals as a substitute. The two players are, along with The Netherlands' Wijnaldum and Italy's Gabbiadini, the tournament's current top goalscorers.
It is very likely that Álvaro Morata will start the game between Spain and The Netherlands, which will decide the winner of Group B.
The striker dreams of succeeding Adrián López as the European under-21 Championship's top goalscorer. The Atlético forward scored two goals to win the Golden Boot award in Denmark two years ago.
Whether he brings home the Golden Boot or not, Morata will return to Madrid with a wealth of experience under his belt.
Morata's performances at the European Championship have pleased Real Madrid and the club has already told the forward that it wants him to stay irrespective of who takes over as first-team coach, although the manager will have the final word.
