Neymar: "I'm no hero"

Neymar has accepted that he's going to play second fiddle at Barça. Well, at least that's what he said on the day he was presented as a Barça signing, when he assigned the role of club talisman to Leo Messi.
However, things look quite different with the Brazilian national team. He is very much the go-to player for the 'Canarinha'. He's been given the number 10 shirt and the pressure of his nations hopes rests squarely on his shoulders.
Just five days from the start of the Confederations Cup, Barça's new player has taken charge of the front line for the five-time World Cup winners, but he pointed out: "I'm no hero. You can't hit your shots into the top corner every day. I know what role I have to play, but I play to help the team, be it with assists or goals", the starlet told the Brazilian edition of GQ magazine.
Neymar is somewhat more relaxed these days with his plans for the coming season settled, but just now he's got to put his energy into helping the 'Seleçao'.
"I'm used to it. Since I was little I dreamed of playing for the national team and now I'm chuffed to take on that challenge. But I want to insist that I'm not a hero…and I'm not a villain either if things don't go so well. The passion for football that exists in Brazil is incredible. I'm aware of this, and I'm not sure how things are going to turn out. But what I can promise is that we'll put as much effort as is humanly possible into doing the Brazil shirt proud".
