This Tuesday, Florentino Pérez began his next mandate as Real Madrid President, after being the only candidate to stand for election. The President was sworn in for the fourth time in a ceremony held at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
"The future has already started and we want more. Real Madrid should be a club that sets an example and strives for excellence, to be competitive. We will never give up, having learnt this lesson from great individuals like Di Stéfano".
"We have just been named as the highest valued club. We've been at the head of all the financial tables for eight years now, and that means that the club can still belong to its members, as we were taught it should by our parents. When we arrived, the club's assets were valued at €30 million and now they are valued at over €300 million".
"We'll have a team that is full of talent, hunger and stability, with technical staff that are up to the task. We've returned to our habitat, which allows us to fight till the bitter end in every competition we enter. And we'll keep on like this until we claim our tenth European crown and well beyond that. Because, as 'L'Equipe' said, Real Madrid is eternal".
On Monday night, Florentino Pérez spoke on the 'Punto Pelota' radio program: "Cristiano still has two years left on his contract and we want him to retire here in Madrid. We'll win the 'Decima' with him here, and do so as soon as possible. He still has many years left in the game and we'll win it soon.
