Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club are following Olympique Lyon's Clement Grenier.
Likened to former Gunner Samir Nasri in terms of playing style, Grenier scored against Lyon's Ligue 1 opposition Rennes over the weekend. The Daily Mail reported that Arsenal scouts were present at the game to run the rule over the midfielder at Wenger's request.
Grenier has come to the fore this season, capitalizing on an injury to Lyon's star midfielder Yoann Gourcuff to notch seven goals and eight assists in 28 appearances for the club.
Speaking to French television programme Telefoot, Wenger admitted his interest in securing the 22-year old's services for Arsenal.
"We are following him. His intelligence of play pleases me. He has interesting qualities. He reminds me of Nasri," he stated.
The former France Under-21 international, rated at approximately eight million pounds by Lyon, recently received a senior call-up from Didier Deschamps following an injury to Nasri and is reportedly interested in making a summer switch to the Premier League.
