Ramos: Real need Bale

GARETH BALE was last night urged by Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos: Come and join us.
The Spanish giants are desperate to prise the double Footballer of the Year from Tottenham in a £60million switch.
And defender Ramos declared: “Gareth Bale is a Real Madrid-quality signing. He has had an exceptional season. He can punish any team in the world and has the footballing qualities we look for in Madrid.
“I am sure Madrid will not be the only team that want to sign him — but he is the right mould for us.”
Real see Bale, currently the hottest property in world football, as the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who looks set to quit the club.
The Spaniards hope their chances of landing the Welshman have increased because of Tottenham’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
But Bale has dropped a massive hint he is ready to delight Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas and sign a new four-year deal with the Londoners worth £150,000 a week.
Bale said: “We fought hard this season, the team and the manager have been great.
“We have got the record points (72) for the club in the Premier League.
“That would normally be enough to qualify for the Champions League. We will just have to regroup and give it another go.”
Real’s former president Ramon Calderon, who masterminded the world-record £80m swoop for Ronaldo, told Madrid to break the bank for Bale.
He said: “Everyone wants Bale. Should they pay £80m for Bale? If you have it, why not? Money is better on the field than in the bank.”
