Manchester City left-back Gael Clichy has signed a new four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium that will keep him at the club until 2017.
The Frenchman joined City two years ago and has 56 league appearances for the club since leaving Arsenal, playing a starring role in the title-winning team of last season.
The contract is set to keep him at the club until he is 31 and, having signed the contract, Clichy is hopeful about his long-term future as he assured supporters that they will return stronger after a disappointing season.
"I'm really happy to have agreed a new deal with City and I'm already looking forward to next season," he told the club's official website.
"Things didn't go the way we wanted them to this year but we'll come back stronger next season and learn from this experience."
The France international previously spent eight years at Arsenal, making 187 appearances since joining the club in 2003 from Caen.
