Stoke launches an internal investigation regarding the pig's head left in Kenwyne Jones' locker..

Stoke City has launched an internal investigation following reports that a pig's head was found in the locker of one of the team's players.

The Premier League club says it ''takes seriously reports of an incident'' at its Clayton Wood training ground and ''those responsible for any unacceptable behavior will be dealt with in accordance with the club's disciplinary procedures.''

It has been reported that a pig's head was left in Kenwyne Jones' locker, and that the striker was furious on discovering it.

Stoke midfielder Brek Shea posted a picture of him holding a pig's head, which was severed down the middle, by the ears in the changing room. Shea tweeted ''locker room banter gone wild!!! (hashtag)SAW.''

The Daily Telegraph website reported Jones smashed the windscreen of teammate Glenn Whelan's car in retribution with a brick, believing he was responsible.

Jones' girlfriend, Kissa Abdullah, Jones’ girlfriend, Kissa Abdullah, expressed her displeasure on Twitter, condemning the perpetrators and stating the prank was “not even close to funny.”

Abdullah added: "Big men acting like kids a pigs head is not a prank its just disgusting!!!!! I don't get how was that sup 2 be funny!!!! Really???"

The British media is reporting that the pig's head was found in the locker of striker Kenwyne Jones. Another Stoke striker, Michael Owen, was the subject of a prank last week when he tweeted a picture of his car covered in eggs and flour.'

The ex-Liverpool striker tweeted on Sunday: wrote: "This is what I will miss once I hang up my boots! Looks like I may be delayed getting to the match." He then identified the suspects: "It's a long week lads. Revenge is in the air! Chief suspects: Whitehead and Whelan. Huth is a possible too."
